Mini di is back! Back to her beloved and serene Santiniketan, with all her favourite people. But, serenity does not last long around our Mini di. Even as the weather turns balmy in autumn, a young woman is murdered, almost at her doorstep. And, while the place is familiar, the setting is not. The woman is part of a TV crew and Mini di has to navigate the unknown world of cinema and make belief, which requires her to dig deep into her knowledge of human nature. She is ably supported by her family, domestic faithfuls and the local police.

Mrinalini Gupta or Mini di, as we know her, retired early from a corporate career and is now settled in Santiniketan or, Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘abode of peace’ with a replaced hip, dodgy knee and an insatiable curiosity to solve mysteries.

This book falls within the genre of ‘Cosy Mysteries’. A perfect read on a road trip or a cosy afternoon during the festive holidays.

Sreela Das Gupta currently works in a corporate firm, prior to which she spent over two decades in the development sector, focusing on human rights issues. She has published two volumes of poetry but was feeling restless till she penned down a ‘cosy mystery’ – a genre she reads as a stress-buster in her very busy schedule. This is her fourth Cosy Mystery.
