ABOUT THE BOOK
There seems to exist various divergent opinions on a number of issues regarding the applicability of the GST Act to the non-government sector. This book provides an in-depth analysis of such issues involved and the impact of the Act on them. The book also attempts to present a simplified version of the provisions of the Act and Rules applicable to NGOs.
The book has 5 sections. Section A deals with concepts and specific application of the Act to NGOs. Section B focuses on various exemptions and makes an analytical review of the impact of the act on grants, donations, CSR funding, consultancy services and sponsorships.
Section C provides with summarized guidelines of the Act and section D covers the entire functional provisions of the Act and Rules.
GST related accounting transactions through illustrative examples appear under Section E. A number of important forms have been given at the end.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
The author graduated in commerce from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and is a fellow member of the leading accounting professional institute of India. He has a long and fruitful experience of working in the corporate as well as the development sectors. For the last two decades, he has been intimately involved with the development sector in various capacities. He has conducted workshops on finance, accounts and HR on behalf of government agencies and international donors. He has also drafted various guidelines, policies and manuals and have been involved with their implementation. “Financial Management for NGOs” is the first book authored by him a decade back.
