It gives me immense pleasure to publish research level book entitled ‘Social Prospecting, Humanities and Multidisciplinary Research’ in December 2024. This book is a collection of high-quality research articles that span a wide range of disciplines, offering critical insights and scholarly discourse across multiple academic domains. The compilation serves as a valuable learning resource for students, academicians, and researchers alike.
The book comprises 23 chapters, carefully curated to reflect the diversity and depth of contemporary research. The distribution of chapters includes four from Commerce, seven from Education, three each from English and History, two each from Political Science and Sociology, and one each from Science and Economics. Each contribution has been selected for its academic merit, originality, and relevance in today’s evolving educational and research landscape.
Dr. Tarun Kumar Jana is currently serving as the Principal of Mount Mary College, located in the Chümoukedima district of Nagaland and affiliated with Nagaland University.
He holds an M.Sc. in Botany from Vidyasagar University (VU), a Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta (CU), and an M.Ed. from the West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Education Planning and Administration (WBUTTEPA), now known as Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (BSAEU), West Bengal.
With 26 years of teaching experience in both general college and B.Ed. programs, Dr. Jana has established himself as a dedicated educator and researcher. He is widely recognized for his significant contributions to Fungal Taxonomy, having reported over 30 new foliicolous fungi from Nagaland.
Dr. Jana has published 20 research articles in reputed national and international journals and authored seven book chapters. He has also edited five research-level books:

• Human Culture, Society and Multidisciplinary Research
• Sociodiversity, Culture and Interdisciplinary Research
• Social Prospecting, Humanities and Multidisciplinary Research
In addition to his academic work, he has served as a resource person for various institutions and has attended and presented numerous research papers at state and national level conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Dr. Jana is also appointed as an External Member of the Doctorate Committee at St. Joseph University, Nagaland.
