Description
A group of blind men encounter an elephant for the first time and try to
understand it by touch. Each man feels a different part: one the trunk, another the
leg, another the ear, and conclude that the elephant is like a snake, a tree,
and a fan, respectively. They argue, each believing their perception is correct.
A wise man intervenes, explaining that they each have grasped only a part of
the whole. The story teaches that individual perspectives
can be limited and incomplete.
