In a rapidly changing business scenario, the needs and wants of the employees cannot be expected to be static. Hence, the leader’s role in keeping the employees motivated towards a higher level of performance has become extremely complex. Besides the job and the employees’ own circumstances, leaders have a major role to play in motivating the employees. In such a dynamic scenario, it becomes pertinent to find as to which leadership factors contribute to motivation and which ones may lead to demotivation.
A three-purposed study has been attempted, i.e., discovering the critical success factors as prescribed by management pundits, finding out the various aspects of leader orientations, and finally, studying the impact of leadership styles in combination with leader’s orientation upon employee motivation. Ask Why? is a result of the authors’ attempt to bring this novel idea to publication in a lucid manner which is readable, comprehensible, and easily applicable.
