Sangyukta, just like the word “SWAPNADRASHTA”, is a self-confessed dreamer who loves chasing her dreams and taking challenges head-on. Having a heartfelt conversation and a hearty laugh with her close ones is her stress-buster mantra in life.
Sangyukta was diagnosed with Cancer in the year 2013 and defeated it with sheer grit and willpower. This is Sangyukta’s first book as an author, where she narrates her fight with Cancer and her upheaval and physical and emotional journey during that time.
Cancer – the utterance of this very word shakes people to their core making them lose their strength, peace and tranquillity all at once. And the harrowing experience of the treatments for the big “C” makes people question the very meaning of their existence. This is the story about a woman with immense passion and love for life with stardust dreams and a desire to make them come true. The book “Ranaangganat Swapnadrashtaa” narrates how she came into the shackles of this deadly disease and broke free of it with immense strength, courage and resilience. Cancer necessarily doesn’t mean death and the treatments and chemotherapy cannot break the human body and spirit, only if we realise that physical pain is temporary and that a beautiful life awaits us at the end of the tunnel of these tormenting treatments. The writer beautifully emphasises how she realised that one can sail past this cursed journey with grace and strength without breaking down mentally with a positive attitude and faith towards life.
The book presents a non-linear narrative style reflecting the personality of the author – spontaneous, free and lucid. The book is definitely a page-turner and this story is not just about Cancer but an inspiration for anyone when life presents itself with unexpected and difficult situations.
