Having been associated with writing for about more than twenty five years A.R.Sarkar has written many stories and screenplays for feature films. Over the years he has also provided translation services for various fictions and non-fictions. His educational background in literature, excellent command of language, lucid style, mastery of words and his experience in film writing has given him a broad-based skill, from which to approach many a topic. Starting his professional career in 1987 writing screenplay of Bengali feature film Sangharsha he continued till 1999 when he wrote and directed a Hindi feature film Aasakti. Then after a long suffering that’d followed his father’s death in 2004, he started his career anew with his screenplay of ‘Ego – That Differs’ in March, 2010 based on the short story ‘Postmaster’ by Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel Prize winner for literature in 1913, which won awards in the categories of Best Film, Best Direction, Best Screenplay and Best Production.

Now he has taken another step forward in the world of writing with this promising and thrilling novel “SARBANASHER EK RAAT” (A night of Massacre) which is based on a true story of just one day.
