Description

The first part of the Inspirational Case Stories is on the formation of NGOs (Non-Government Organizations). The book is a comprehensive compilation of various Acts and Mandatory Tax Compliance requirements to start an NGO in the context of Indian setting. A guideline is also given on preparing the Memorandum of Association and framing Rules and Regulations for the Trust, largely known as the ‘Constitution’ of the Trust.

The second part of the book consists of the narration of the stories of three distinguished NGO ladies, namely, Fathema Ismail, the Mother of Rehabilitation in India; Edith White, the Administrator of Bloorview Children’s Hospital in Toronto, Canada and Dorothy Baker, the Principal of the College of Social Work in Mumbai. The author happened to know these ladies in her work capacity and was personally impressed by them immensely.

The author analyses how these ladies led their respective Non-Profit Organizations from the front and took them to un-paralleled heights. So much so that even 50 years later their Organizations are still holding prominent positions and growing from strength to strength, richly contributing in nation building.

Jyotsna Mody is a graduate social worker with a field level experience of over 55 years. She has worked with NGOs in USA, Canada and in Mumbai, India.

The second book “Inspirational Case Stories for Non-Profits Management” is the continuation of the same topic.
