The title of the book symbolizes the nature of the author’s involvement in an industry which plays a vital role in developing basic infrastructures needed for the all round development of a country like India. The author has documented some of the major civil construction projects of the Indian Sub-continent, from its inception to handover, the nitty-gritty of the work that undergoes in several phases in a project and the obstacles that a project goes through along with its resolutions as witnessed by the author during his work tenure over the years in different landscapes and conditions. This includes varying experiences from tunnelling projects in the heart of Jammu and Kashmir, hydel power projects, a bridge project in Varanasi, to a unique rock quarrying project in Chennai. Besides, this book also reflects the journey and steady growth of a working professional from an enthusiastic fresher to a confident, firm and resolute veteran consultant in the field of civil engineering.
The author did his schooling from Kelishahar High School, and Patiya Model High School, Patiya Sub-division, Chittagong, Bangladesh, and passed the Matriculation Examination from East Pakistan Secondary Education Board, Dacca.
Later, he migrated to India and settled in Kolkata. He studied at Bangabasi College, Sealdah, and passed P.U. (Sc) examination under Calcutta University. He qualified himself as a licentiate Mechanical Engineer from the State Council Council of Engineering and Technical Education, Govt. of West Bengal.
Since 1980, he has worked in civil construction projects for 39 years until 2019 under major players of the Indian Sub-continent as a regular employee and as a consultant.
